2077. Cyberpunk made the news for several reasons when it was released late last year, but a more pressing concern about the “braindance” sequence of the game causing convulsions.

After some debate, it was quickly fixed and Microsoft has confirmed that it will improve certification procedures to prevent this from happening again on consoles. However, reports suggest that Square Enix is newly released Balance Wonderworld also contains a scene that could cause seizures.

The report comes from YouTuber Bigdaddyjende, who uploaded the final footage of the boss from the PS5 edition of the game. There are two segments in which bright white lights appear, which flash quickly.

WARNING: We strongly advise you not to watch the video if you are at risk for an epileptic seizure.

if you really I want to take a look, this happens twice at 11:35 and 12:40. I did not embed the video on this page, for obvious reasons.

Game Informer Liana Ruppert, who covered issues related to Cyberpunk 2077, issued the following PSA on this issue:

When I started watching the scene you can video view at 12:40 p.m. (but I strongly advise you or be careful), I had to stop him immediately. Immediately, my right side fell and I could feel the beginning of an episode. I walked away. I did my usual “check” on myself, put on safer technological settings, and looked again, this time at a slower speed, to deny the effect of the rapid fire that I know is a trigger. What I saw – I hope – is simply a mistake before the release, because if this scene was intentional, my concern is that the security controls have been cut. I can’t imagine how this necessary safety certification process went if this was intended.

The above scene not only uses intermittent effects, but quickly triggers a series of white on the background flashes. Quick succession is instantly dangerous and because of this, I made a PSA on social media to give a warning. Since that tweet went live, I’ve appealed to many people, including developers and other QA developers, saying they’re not even epileptic, but they felt “weird” after watching. My husband, who had no previous problems with epilepsy or neurological triggers, complained that he was dizzy before throwing up. Several others reported the same thing.

It is not known for sure if this affects the Switch or Xbox versions of the game, but Square Enix issued the following tweet about the problem and confirms that it is a known bug:

If you have already purchased the game from Switch, PlayStation or Xbox, we recommend that you download the patch before downloading it.
