However, this 2021 would mean the triumphant return of the actor, as it was recently announced that in February next year the series will begin recording. “Malverde: The Holy Patron”, where Colunga will play the role of “Robin Hood of the Mexicans” and which will be broadcast on Telemundo.
Now, it was the same television station that broadcast some images in which Colunga appears showing his new Mexican bandit look, in addition to a promotional video in which the actor talks a little about the project: “My name is Fernando Colunga and I am preparing for one of the most important characters in my career. The saint of many good people and bad people, but that’s how saints are, right? We owe it to everyone, for better or for worse“He says in his promotion.

In the clip, the 54-year-old actor looks identical to the famous character, with the mustache that characterizes him, a scar on his left and disordered eyebrow, contrasting a little with the serious and always dressed image that we are used to.
In some interviews, the gallant stated that it is a great honor that this character came to him, due to the significance it has for many people; not only for the people involved in the illicit trade in substances, but also for all those people who helped in his time.
In addition, he stressed that the project is a big challenge in his acting career, which is why he missed a few years of television, because he expected another story in which he worked.
