Lionel Messi was left out of the FIFA (TOTY) team for the first time in its history.
EA Sports led the team, which is based on FIFPro World XI, since its Ultimate Team mode began in FIFA 09.
Since that edition, MESS has been included in every TOTY so far. This year, Cristiano Ronaldo, Robert Lewandowski and Kylian Mbappe took the seats before.
The rest of the team consists of Manuel Neuer for the purpose; Trent Alexander-Arnold, Sergio Ramos, Virgil van Dijk and Alphonso Davies in defense; while Kevin de Bruyne, Bruno Fernandes and Joshua Kimmich forms the middle of the field.
Unlike previous years, Branches is the only representative from LaLiga Santander in XI.
