With Luis Suarez in brilliant form for Atletico Madrid, the man who discovered the Uruguayan in his youth, Martin Lasarte, suggested that the player was right to leave Barcelona.
Suarez he spent six years at the Camp Nou and won four LaLiga Santander titles, four Copa del Rey trophies and the Champions League in a brilliant career, before joining Atletico in the summer.
“I am sure some in Barcelona regret it [letting him go], ” Lasarte said Radio MARCA. “In such situations, where there is a managerial problem, things are complicated.
“Suarez seemed to be entering the twilight of his career. Now he has a new brilliance and a new place.
“Perhaps he did well to leave the comfort zone of Barcelona. “
Until this season, Suarez scored 12 goals in LaLiga Santander, as Atletico stand seven points away from Real Madrid, above the table, with a game in hand.
