Pedri revealed a conversation he had with his coach Ronald Koeman a few days after joining Barcelona last summer.
The 18-year-old striker explained that Barcelona the coach admitted that he had never seen him play before and therefore Pedri he had to prove himself in training to win a place at the starting line.
“One day [Koeman] he put me aside and told me that he didn’t know much about me, that he had hardly seen me play and that I would have to show my skills and abilities in training ” Pedri said AP.
“I was motivated by that. I knew I had to work as hard as anyone to earn my place.”
