FBI Releases Photos of People Suspected of Hitting DC Officers and Planting Pipe Bombs During Capitol Unrest

The FBI released images Sunday of seven people suspected of beating a police officer in Washington, DC during the Jan. 6 attack on the U.S. Capitol, and of a person who authorities say had planted pipe bombs at the Democratic’s national headquarters. and Republican Party.

“The FBI is seeking public help in identifying these individuals involved in the assault of DC Metropolitan Police Officer Mike Fanone,” the press release accompanying the photos said.

The photos appear to show seven men in the crowd, and the FBI asked anyone who recognizes the individuals or has information to do so by phone or via his tip website before the riots.

The FBI has also announced that it is offering a reward of $ 50,000 to anyone providing “information leading to the location, arrest and conviction of the person (s) responsible for placing suspected pipe bombs” near the headquarters of the Republican National Committee (RNC) and the Democratic National Committee (DNC ) on January 6.

The agency noted in a press release that “multiple” law enforcement agencies had been notified of a suspected pipe bomb at the RNC at approximately 1:00 PM. About 15 minutes later, reports of a second pipe bomb arrived at DNC’s headquarters.

DC Police later confirmed on January 6 that the pipe bombs were found near the DNC and RNC headquarters during the afternoon.

Fanone, an MPD narcotics officer, told CNN he was pulled into a crowd and Tasered during the chaos. The mob picked up their equipment, extra ammunition, police radio and badge, and several yelled “Kill him with his own gun.”
