Farmville’s early success on Facebook stops at the end of Adobe Flash Player’s life

Attention virtual farmers: you are now retired.

One of Facebook’s first hits, “Farmville,” is no longer accepted by Adobe, CNN reported.

“Farmville” was a popular game more than 10 years ago.

Users took care of the digital fields and harvested fake vegetables.

The game closed for good Thursday, the victim of outdated Adobe Flash Player software.

Adobe decided to kill Flash after declining in popularity due to its difficulty running on mobile phones.

Apple completely blocked it from its iPhones in 2010, citing security concerns.

Adobe has now abandoned support for Flash and will block all Flash content on January 12th.

If you still had money to use for app additions on “Farmville”, game maker Zynga says “good luck”.

It does not issue refunds for this money.
