Heavy snow is falling over parts of New England and will last for hours on Sunday evening.
A strip of snow has come to a stop in the Boston metro area. Inside this band, snow fell at a rate of 3 to 4 inches per hour. Most of our forecasts are on track, expected under this band.
If you are under the tire, visibility drops below a quarter of a mile. Localized quantities of 9 to 12 inches are possible.
The liquid to snow ratio will be slightly lower on the coast, so even with heavy snowfall, snow speeds there will likely be between 1 and 2 inches per hour.
It’s still brunch to blizzard before bed for us – the timing hasn’t changed. Most of the snow that accumulates will end by dinner.

If you want to get a head start on morning cleanup, you may want to light the snow blower or shovel and it will save you the annoyance in the morning.
Monday we take a break, but it will be cold.
Snow may fall again on Tuesday. That round of snow will only be 1 to 3 inches or 2 to 4 inches. Unfortunately the timing is bad and this can delay commuting on Tuesday evenings.
Wednesday and Thursday we take another break, before a new storm from Thursday evening to Friday morning. Some forecasting models indicate an important event.
