Broncos’ secondary is limping in today’s game against Bills.
In the last three weeks, the Broncos have lost corner Bryce Callahan, defender Essang Bassey, defender Duke Dawson and defender Kevin Toliver II due to end-of-season injuries and lost defender AJ Bouye to a six-game suspension.
Nate Hairston, who has just arrived from the Ravens training team, must now start with debutant Michael Ojemudia, and De’Vante Bausby, who arrived last month out of the Cardinals, will be the third defender. The safety parks will serve as a nickel corner. Broncos coach Vic Fangio says he has never seen anything like it.
“Not, I’ve never been in this situation before – and when you say three corners, the third [Hairston] I just got here, “Fangio said. “So there is a lot to learn and a lot to get into. [I’ve] I’ve never been in this situation before. Hopefully Michael and ‘Baus and Will, like nickel, can stay upright and play the whole game and we won’t have to find out. “
Fangio will do his best with the hand given to him, but he is waiting for Bills quarterback Josh Allen to have a great day today.
