A double by Callum Wilson gave the guests the victory. Discreet presentation of the Colombian team.
With a double from striker Callum Wilson, Newcastle caught Everton of Colombians Yerry Mina and James Rodríguez and defeated them 2-0 at Goodison Park, in a match on the 20th of the English Premier League.
The result was repeated and the great protagonist of the duel in the first round, in which Wilson scored the goals of Newcastle’s victory at home. Thus, the team became the black beast of Everton in the tournament, winning both games, scoring four goals and allowing none.

In the first part there were few emotions. The teams alternated the initiative and were presented only two clear goal options, almost at the end. The first was a header by Callum Wilson taken by goalkeeper Jordan Pickford and the second was a shot by James Rodríguez rejected by goalkeeper Karl Darlow.
For complement, Everton came out more determined, but it was his rival who created the danger. In a counterattack, Callum Wilson squandered a very clear opportunity in which he went hand in hand with Pickford. And the Colombian team was diluted and lost momentum, before a well-closed defense of the visitor.

Newcastle’s first goal came in the 72nd minute. In a corner kick, as happened in the first stage, Callum Wilson, unmarked, won in front and with an impeccable header sent the ball to the back of the net.
Everton tried to react, but had no arguments to equalize. As on rare occasions, James Rodríguez was inaccurate and accused several shots of being treated in the first stage. He was helpless and desperate, to the point where he was reprimanded for a foul committed by Paraguayan Miguel Almirón.

Callum Wilson again missed a clear option, but then closed the score. Already during the injury he took advantage of a counterattack and set strong down before Pickford’s departure for the 2-0 final, Newcastle’s first victory in 2021. Yerry Mina had no responsibility for goals. In the first team he scored in the area and in the second he was in the rival area when the game started.
With the defeat, Everton remained at 33 points and moved away from the European Cup positions. Newcastle, on the other hand, scored 22 points and climbed to box 16, a respite because it is haunted by relegation.
