Four months ago they were evicted from a house where they lived as settlers.
Pedro Ramos is 85 years old and says his only sin was born in poverty. Father’s love for a son remains intact despite his physical and financial limitations. The 80-year-old cares for and nurtures his daughter who has suffered from paralysis from birth, leaving her in a wheelchair.
They live in what was once a coffee shop, located in the hamlet of Santa Elenita, canton of La Puente, in Juayúa, Sonsonate.
The old man lives with his 46-year-old daughter Zoila Esperanza in a house of only four square meters, which is made of cypress sheets and pitchforks.

They have been on the site for four months, when they were driven from a farm where they lived as settlers.
“Here they even gave us a little bit of where to live, but it’s enough to make our little mushroom; I can no longer work because of my age. I take care of my daughter Zoila, she is stretched out in that old wheelchair ”, said the old man.
Some people who know their situation give them some food to survive.
