Nine Kansas City Chiefs players appeared in the first injury report sent to the NFL before the Super Bowl LV to be played Feb. 7 against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.
Only left-back striker Eric Fisher, who suffered a broken Achilles heel in the AFC championship game, was listed as “not practicing”, despite the fact that the Chiefs did not officially train on the field on Wednesday and only they had meetings to start planning your meeting.
The rest of the Chiefs were labeled “limited” in practice for physical discomfort: defenders Rashad Fenton (foot) and L’Jarius Sneed (concussion); offensive line officers Mike Remmers (groin) and Andrew Wylie (ankle); defender Willie Gay Jr. (ankle); catcher Sammy Watkins (calf) and runners Clyde Edwards-Helaire (ankle and hip) and Le’Veon Bell (knee).
According to the Chiefs report, defender Patrick Mahomes is now recovering from a thumb injury and is ready to train without limitations.
For their part, the Buccaneers included defenders Lavonte David (hamstring) and Jason Pierre-Paul in their report; safety Jordan Whitehead (shoulder and knee) and Antoine Winfield Jr. (ankle) and receiver Antonio Brown (knee), who indicated that they are not feeling well in training.
With limited participation, receiver Mike Evans (knee) and defensive line Vita Vea (ankle) were selected. Catcher Chris Godwin did not train due to hip and thigh discomfort.
The rested Chiefs and Buccaneers will start this Thursday with field training.
