In the song Zeus from his new catalog, Music To Be Murdered By – Side B, the 48-year-old rapper tried to correct his own mistakes with the note.

“But I, as long as I promise to be honest again / And with all my heart, sorry, Rihanna,” he sang. “For the song that flowed, I’m sorry, Ri / It wasn’t meant to hurt you.
“Either way, it was wrong of me.”
Almost a decade ago, the artist – who is completely called Marshall Mathers – created a song with lyrics with Chris Brown.

Brown attacked Rihanna after a pre-Grammy party in 2009, where she later pleaded guilty to assault charges and officially ended probation in March 2015.
Dennis Dennehy, Eminem’s spokesman, said in response to the leaked lyrics at the time: “This is a leak of something over 10 years old. After Eminem recorded it, he abandoned it and rewrote it. Obviously, he and Rihanna have an excellent relationship. ‘

The song – which had a theme around domestic violence – has sold over 12 million copies and won five Grammy nominations.
