Elon Musk’s latest tweet showing a monkey playing a game using his mind triggered a lot of reactions on social media.
Accessing the microblogging website, the Tesla CEO redistributed a Neuralink post along with a caption that read “Monkey plays Pong with the mind”. He explained: “A monkey literally plays a telepathic video game using a brain chip !!”
Originally distributed by Neuralink, the 3.27-minute clip features Pager, a nine-year-old Macaque who uses a joystick to play a game on a computer screen. However, moments later, when the joystick is disconnected, the monkey is able to continue the game using his mind.

Musk’s start-up develops a fully implanted, wireless, brain-machine (BMI) interface that allows people with paralysis to directly use their neural activity to easily operate various devices. The monkey in the video was implanted with a Neuralink weeks before the experiment.
In the experiment, the monkey not only plays the game with the mind, but is also able to adapt to it when the difficulty level is increased. The clip ends with the monkey rewarded with a banana.
Since it was distributed online, the post has created a buzz with many quite impressed with the experiment. However, many were also reminded of the popular science fiction film Monkeys planet.

do you get more banana smoothie if you play the game correctly? I watched the video and I’m not sure how he knows how to play the game in the first place.
