Elliot Page says “love and support” from fans is “the biggest gift” after coming out as a trans

Elliot Page has a message for his fans.

The 33-year-old actor announced on social networks earlier this month that he is transgender and uses pronouns.

Now, the “Umbrella Academy” star distributed a message to thank their fans for supporting him.

The star shared a selfie with him on Sunday wearing a black jacket with a hood pulled over his head. He also wore a black hat and large silver glasses.

“From the bottom of my heart, thank you,” he headlined the post. “Your love and support was the greatest gift. Stay safe. Be there for each other.”

Then they gave a friendly shout to a couple of pro-trans charities.

“If you’re capable, support @transanta and @translifeline,” he said. “See you in 2021 Xoxo Elliot.”

The short but sweet fast attracted a lot of love from some of Page’s famous colleagues.

“I love you so much]!” wrote Indya Moore, known for her role in “Pose.”

“Dear Major, huge for you, Elliot,” said Jennifer Garner.

Janelle Monae commented on a series of loving and festive emojis, while director James Gunn and actress Kate Mara both left a single red-hearted emoji.

The page appeared publicly through a lengthy statement on social media on December 1.

“Hello friends, I want to share with you that I am trans, my pronoun is his / her name and Elliot. I feel lucky to be writing this. To be here. To have reached this place in my life” the statement began.

Page reflected on their gratitude for the support the actor received as he launched into this new chapter.

“I feel overwhelming gratitude for the incredible people who have supported me throughout this journey. I can’t begin to express how remarkable it finally feels to finally love who I am enough to pursue my true self,” continued Page.

“I was endlessly inspired by so many members of the trans community. Thank you for your courage, generosity and hard work to make this world a more inclusive and compassionate place. I will give any support I can and I will continue to strive for a more loving and equal society. “

Page’s announcement came six years after he went public as a gay man at a conference in Las Vegas for educators and counselors working with gay youth. In 2018, the star married his partner Emma Portner. The two allegedly met on Instagram.

In his statement, Page calls for “patience” as he navigates the transition. While admitting that “their joy is real”, the Hollywood star reminds fans that it is also a “fragile” thing to appear due to the astonishing statistics of violence against transgender people.

In addition to swearing to support the trans community, Page shared how proud he is to be a part of it.

“I like being trans. And I like being weird. And the closer I get and embrace who I am, the more I dream, the more my heart grows and the more prosperous,” he continued. Page’s statement.

The actor added that they will stand with others in the trans community to impose their rights and freedom.

“I see you, I love you and I will do everything I can to change this world for the better,” Page concluded.
