We can no longer say that the electric 2022 Mercedes-Benz EQS is good for big screens and nothing else – because it also has a wide range. We’re talking about 478 miles per load, which is more than Tesla Model S can handle today. Which is pretty exceptional. You could drive from Tijuana, Mexico to Modesto, California and have a few more batteries.

Remote anxiety is an important stop when it comes to electric vehicles, as most electric vehicles have a distance of about 200 to 300 miles. at most. With slow charging networks and a still questionable infrastructure, you are a kind of consumer demand to complain. Which it seems to be the reason Mercedes goes with EQS.

Mercedes announced last summer that it intends the EQS to have more autonomy than most other electric vehicles on the market, but confirmation did not come until yesterday, when Mercedes released a Press release delving into the details of the sedan. Along with the range, there are some neat details to discover:

  • Top speed limited to 130 mph
  • An power up to 385 kW
  • 470 horsepower and 560 pound-feet of torque
  • Multiple propulsion options
  • Higher density lithium-ion battery with sophisticated thermal management
  • Shorter charging times
  • Accident-protected battery
  • The most aerodynamic production care ever made with a pull coefficient of 0.20

Of course, European standards for testing the range of electric cars are significantly different from those of US EPA measurements – so what real the range figures remain to be seen. We still expect it to be a state-of-the-art model compared to most other electric vehicles on the road.

Whatever the case, EQS promises an almost astonishing level of new technology that should increase the electric game in a big way – especially if the batteries developed by Mercedes are as compact and efficient as it claims.
