El Paso exceeds 1,300 confirmed coronavirus deaths

EL PASO, Texas (KVIA) – The El Paso Department of Public Health announced 16 new confirmed coronavirus deaths on Monday.

The most recent deaths included:

  • 2 men aged 50 years
  • 1 woman of 50 years
  • 1 man aged 60 years
  • 3 women aged 60 years
  • 2 men aged 70 years
  • 2 women aged 70 years
  • 1 woman of 80 years
  • 3 men aged 90 years
  • 1 woman aged 90 years

It brings the official death toll to 1,304 in El Paso County. There are also 586 suspicions of Covid-19 deaths under investigation by local health officials.

Health officials also reported 357 new cases. There are currently 36,082 active coronavirus infections in El Paso, an increase of 81 from the previous day.

Covid-19 hospitalizations increased by one to 505. The number of intensive care patients increased from 196 to 199.

To date, there have been 95,544 El Pasoani infected with the virus, officials estimate that 57,540. But doctors warn that some recovered people may have ongoing health problems due to infection once.
