Blimey, 2020 was a bit of a slogan, wasn’t it? It is unlikely to be remembered as a particularly low year in human history, which, with a global pandemic, effectively shuts down the entire world. We had to cut back on the things we love to do to keep people safe, and many of us lost our loved ones to a virus that was not seen in 12 months ago. Fairly as dramatic as a light.

2021 does not seem to be so different – compared to where we are in the UK, a national blockade has actually been implemented, which means that we are starting the new year in the same way we spent the biggest part of 2020 – but there are still reasons to stay happy. Earth’s top tasks have discovered a vaccine, and with their fingers crossed, the New Year’s message we post in 12 months will be a little bit more optimistic.

Anyway, enough of all this, let’s take some time to look forward to 2021. What new games do you think we’ll see? How will events like E3, Gamescom and PAX take place this year? Vol Bayonet 3 finally do you see the launch, or will we just be told that “development is going well” again? How many more employees will Retro hire to work Metroid Prime 4? It will be the damn Switch Pro actually materialize?

We’re not sure 2021 has the answers to all of these questions, but we’d like to take this opportunity to wish you a prosperous and enjoyable year – and thank you for making Nintendo Life the site we have today. On this topic, it is worth noting that we had a record year for traffic across the entire Nlife network – our sister sites Push Square and Pure Xbox enjoyed their biggest years, and all three sites have accumulated 361,424,293 pages displayed in the last 12 months – so 2020 was not all bad, we guess.
