Eagles WR Marquise Goodwin returns at 49 years old

If you’re a fan of weird NFL transactions, you’ll love this one. ESPN Field Yates reports (via Twitter) that the eagle enlarged Marquise Goodwin returned to the 49ers, according to the trading conditions that the teams completed last year.

However, it doesn’t look like the second stage of the veteran receiver in San Francisco will take that long. Yates notes that Goodwin is unlikely to fit into the 49ers’ plans at a wide receiver, considering that this is just “a procedural move. ”

After four seasons in Buffalo, Goodwin joined the 49ers in 2017. He continued to have a breakout campaign for his new team, amassing 56 receptions for 962 yards and two touchdowns. However, the receiver did not come close to equaling that production between the 2018 and 2019 seasons, compiling 605 meters of scrimmage and five scores in 20 games (14 starts).

Goodwin was split with the Eagles in April last year through a deal that saw the 49ers and Eagles change their sixth-round pick. The 30-year-old has finally declared an option for the 2020 season, and his term at Philly ends without him entering the field for his new team.
