Very little is known about the new project right now
Arc System Works already looked pretty busy in 2021, where it is set to support Guilty Gear Strive, Dragon Ball FighterZ and Granblue Fantasy: Versus, but it looks like they’ve added even more to the plate.
During the Dungeon and Fighter Universe festival in South Korea, Neople announced a new fighting game developed by Arc System Works called Dungeon and Fighter Duel / DNF Duel.
DNF Duel is a new spin-off title in the world of Dungeon Fighter Online, which seems to take the MMORPG in the drunk style and translate the action into a more traditional 2D fighting game.
Dungeon Fighter Online was launched in 2005 and has since become one of the most popular video games in the world, gathering over 700 million players for life and grossing over $ 15 billion as of May 2020.
As for DNF Duel, the game seems to run on a similar engine to another fighting game developed by ArcSys in Granblue Fantasy: Versus with all the anime aesthetic actions you now expect for the company.

Instead of using individual characters, DNF Duel seems to use fighters based on the 16 main classes and 60 Advencements found in the MMO, with five appearing in the trailer.
The characters so far seem to use the Advencement version of the classes with Berserker, Ranger, Grappler, Striker and Inquisitor, all presented with the game here.
There is little going on in terms of gameplay mechanics specifically, but it seems that there is a kind of special cancellation or something similar in which the characters can be seen flashing at different points before making a move.
Eighting, the former developers of Bloody Roar and Marvel vs.Capcom 3, will also work to help create the game, although the purpose of their involvement is not yet known.
It seems that the project is led by Ryosuke Kodani in the director’s chair, who previously worked as a main planner in Dragon Ball FighterZ, was an assistant director for River City Girls and previously worked with Arcana Heart 3.
It’s unclear how many fighting game teams are now running Arc System Works, given that they have three other projects underway, but two of them are only in DLC seasons, and Eighting support here probably helps ease the task for developers. .
No platform or release date was given in the initial trailer, but the previous recording of ArcSys fighting games will probably arrive at least on PlayStation 4 and PC.
