‘A woman crashed over the barricade near the intersection of Pleasant Grove Church Road and Airport Boulevard, her car rolling on the steep embankment and coming to rest in the water below.

The accident took place early Friday morning, about a mile from the RDU airport.

According to a Morrisville Fire Rescue official, the woman drove straight through the intersection and descended the embankment, which was still slippery and muddy with rain.

When officials arrived, she was trying to climb the embankment, but was having trouble getting there because of the mud and her shoes.
