Drew Brees’ shocking video blows up speculation about retirement

Drew Brees doesn’t show anyone about to retire from the NFL.

Brees coach Todd Durkin posted a video on social media on Saturday showing the Saints quarterback pushing a weighted sled through a parking lot and including the captain: “I’m not sure why it’s so cra-cra today, but something has to be prepared … ”

Brees was expected to retire shortly after the Saints’ season ended in a playoff loss to the Buccaneers on Jan. 17.

The video he is training hard on will not allay these suspicions. Here is an excerpt from the video commentary: “Drew, what are you doing? OK, he never did that! . . . I don’t know what he’s doing. . . It’s never been done before! . . . You needed a challenge … It’s a new record, because it’s never been made before! ”

Brees was also expected to retire last season before reversing course in March and signing a two-year contract.

“Last year, he joined the Saints coaching team at the Pro Bowl and they cried because it was his last game. He was retiring. ” Adam Schefter of ESPN told The Rich Eisen Show in this week. “And then he took some free time and here he is back in March.”

Recently, Brees agreed to reduce his salary in 2021 from $ 25 million to the league minimum to help the Saints navigate the salary cap. This was interpreted as a sign of withdrawal.

But Brees pushes that sleigh like a man who plans to avoid passers-by, not one concerned with keeping his father fit.

Will Drew Brees retire?
A?

Few athletes manage to get a championship-winning final, such as John Elway, Peyton Manning and Michael Strahan, but Brees’ last game was a three-interception disagreement against Tom Brady. It wasn’t right for the NFL leader to go through the yard.

“I do not say he will return. I still think he will retire, “Schefter said. “I don’t think these things are black and white and it’s ready to go out the door again, even if in the end I think that will be the decision.”
