One of the most anticipated new studio albums of recent times has another hurdle.

Canadian superstar Drake has decided to postpone the release for the second time – Certified Lover Boy -; this time the delay was due to personal reasons which include suffering a serious knee injury and subsequent surgery.

The rapper and singer had initially set their sights on the launch in the summer of 2020, then the launch in January 2021, before this last setback.

“I was planning to release my album this month, but between surgery and rehabilitation, my energy was dedicated to recovery,” Drake (born Aubrey Drake Graham) posted in an Instagram Story post on Wednesday, January 20th.

“I am blessed to be back on my feet feeling great and focused on the album, but CLB will not fall in January.”

He concluded the post by adding, “I look forward to sharing it with you all in 2021.”

At this time, Drake has not given fans an exact date on when they can expect the Certified Love Boy to be released.

Drake, who became the first music artist to surpass 50 billion combined streams on Spotify this month, gave fans a taste of what to expect when he gave up – Laugh Now Cry Later with Lil Durk – in August last.

Continuing his work in the recording studio, all the accumulated momentum stopped when Drake injured his knee at the end of October.

After surgery, the four-time Grammy Award winner posted a video on Insta-Story, showing his leg with braces and a message referring to the tumultuous year of 2020.

“In fact, I want to use this post to send love and motivation to anyone else in 2020,” he wrote next to the image, which did not include a look on his face.

“Start writing the best comeback story NOW.”

Showing that he has really recovered, Drake posted on social media last week and gave his 74.6 million Instagram fans and followers an update on his recovery.

“10 weeks after the operation Măcin pentru recuperare ZIURI”, the 34-year-old star Find your love wrote in a video about himself working with weights in a gym.

The Toronto native could be seen kneeling on a small exercise bench while holding a considerable amount of weight in his hands in an effort to strengthen his reconstructed right knee.

With over 170 million records sold, Drake is considered one of the best-selling music artists of his generation and beyond.
