Dr. Dre was hospitalized and suffered a cerebral aneurysm

Dr. Dre says he will return home soon after the music tycoon received medical treatment at a Los Angeles hospital for a reported brain aneurysm.

The rapper and the producer declared on Tuesday evening in a post on Instagram that he is grateful for “good wishes”. TMZ, which first reported Dre’s hospitalization, said he suffered a cerebral aneurysm on Monday and was recovering at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. The Los Angeles Times quoted sources as saying that it was in a stable state.

“I do very well and receive excellent care from my medical team,” he said. “I’ll be out of the hospital soon and I’ll be back home. Shout to all the great medical professionals in Cedars. One Love !!”

His representative did not immediately respond to an e-mail from the Associated Press.

TMZ said the 55-year-old was stable and lucid, but doctors did not know what caused the bleeding and were performing tests.

TMZ pointed out that he is “in the middle of a very controversial divorce with his estranged wife, Nicole”.

Several music and sports artists paid tribute to Dre on social media on Tuesday. Ice Cube, Snoop Dogg and LeBron James prayed for his recovery.

Dre, whose real name is Andre Young, has produced hits for Tupac, Snoop Dogg, Eminem and many more. He has won six Grammy Awards.
