Dr. Anthony Fauci, Alex Azar are getting the Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

Dr. Anthony Fauci, the face of the federal government’s COVID-19 pandemic response, will receive a dose of the Moderna coronavirus vaccine on Tuesday with Alex Azar, head of Health and Human Services.

Fauci, the best infectious disease expert, is joined by Azar, director of the National Institutes of Health Francis Collins and other primary care health professionals at the NIH Clinical Center.

“We believe it is important to receive the vaccine publicly as part of our efforts to demonstrate that these vaccines are safe and effective,” said Azar in a tweet.
