The shares ended mostly on Friday, falling to the session lows in the last minutes of trading. Technology-related stocks returned after a sharp rise in Treasury yields, but still suffered weekly losses. Dow Jones Industrial Average DJIA,
ended with a loss of about 475 points, or 1.5%, almost 30,928, according to preliminary figures. The blue-chip gauge ended the week down 1.8%, its fall being offset by a turnover in companies more sensitive to the economic cycle. S&P 500 SPX,
gave up a modest gain before the closing bell, ending with a loss of about 18 points, or 0.5%, close to 3,811 and leaving it with a weekly decline of 2.5%. The technologically strong Nasdaq Composite clung to a gain of about 73 points, or 0.6%, to close at close to 13,332 on Friday, after suffering the biggest one-day drop in October in previous session. The Nasdaq suffered a weekly decline of 4.9%.
