Gone are the days director John Garvin responded to the unraveled story about Days Gone 2.
Days Gone writer and creative director participated in David Gaffe’s podcast to say that players shouldn’t “complain if a game doesn’t get a sequel” if they didn’t buy it “fuck” at full price ”.
“I have an opinion on something that your audience might find interesting and might upset some of them,” Garvin said on the podcast (thanks, VGC). “If you like a game, buy it at the damn price. I can’t tell you how many times I’ve seen players say, “Yeah, I bought this, I got it through PS Plus, whatever.”

“It simply came to our notice then [know if you like a game until you’ve played it], but do not complain if a game does not receive a sequel if it was not accepted at launch.
“It’s like God of War got millions of sales at launch, and you know, Days Gone didn’t. I only speak for myself personally as a developer, I don’t work for Sony, I don’t know what the numbers are. ”
“I can tell you this when I did it [Syphon Filter] The dark mirror [on PSP], we shot so hard on Dark Mirror because piracy was one thing, and Sony wasn’t really caught up in what piracy was doing to sales, ”Garvin continued.
“And we would show them torrents, a torrent site downloaded 200,000 copies of Dark Mirror. If I remember correctly – the numbers could be wrong – but no matter what, I got annoyed then, I would have said that “this is money out of pocket”.
“So I don’t think increasing your involvement in the game is as important as buying the game at the maximum price?” Because if you did, then that directly supports the developers. ”
Sony Bend It seems that it launched Days Gone 2 to Sony, but it was never done because the company wanted to invest in safer and more commercially attractive games. It appears that Sony declined Days Gone 2 before development began.
Days Gone launched with mixed reviews, but it seems to have found a weak spot in the hearts of the gaming public in general. When it was launched in 2019, VG247 called its story “very stupid”.
The title arrived on PlayStation 5 running at 60 fps at a dynamic 4K resolution and also comes on PC this spring. It is also one of the games available through PlayStation Plus this month.
