Donkey Kong Country Attraction is rumored for Super Nintendo World

When Super Nintendo World opens at Universal Studios Japan next year, the attraction will focus primarily on characters from the Super Mario franchise. However, it looks like Nintendo and Universal may have plans to introduce content based on the Donkey Kong franchise! A new datamin, which was shared by @KRoolKountry on Twitter, revealed a series of Donkey Kong-inspired stickers that will arrive in the Super Nintendo World app. It’s impossible to say for sure whether or not this can lead to a game-based ride, but the strong emphasis on the character is fascinating, to say the least!

The images of the stickers can be found in the Tweet embedded below.

While Donkey Kong and Mario have been associated with each other since Donkey Kong arcade game, these stickers highlight elements more closely associated with DK’s solo outputs. The stickers make special reference to Donkey Kong Country and Donkey Konga. The presence of a mini car, in particular, could indicate a possible walk in the park.

The Donkey Kong Country series holds a special place in the hearts of many Nintendo fans. Although the series has not seen a completely new entry since 2014, Nintendo Switch has received ports of the three original Super Nintendo games in the last few months, which has led to a bit of excitement from old school fans and newcomers. Donkey Kong country released in 1994 and a number of players who grew up with the SNES trilogy are starting to have children of their own. As such, it would make a lot of sense to see the series gain a foothold in Super Nintendo World, as parents would have the opportunity to share their love for the franchise with a new generation. However, until Nintendo and Universal make an official announcement, DKC fans will just have to keep their fingers crossed!
