President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani and White House attorney Pat Cipollone have both reportedly received letters from defamation lawyers instructing them to store all records related to allegations that Dominion Voting Systems played a key role in Trump reportedly pulled out of an election victory.

Giuliani has also been warned by Dominion’s lawyers that “a lawsuit over these issues is imminent,” according to a new report from CNN, which received a copy of the letter.

The letters to Cipollone and Giuliani reportedly demanded that Giuliani stop “making defamatory claims against Dominion,” which makes voting machines.

Trump, his campaign lawyers and allies, including attorney Sidney Powell, have claimed without evidence that illegal voting changes to ballots fraudulently gave Joe Biden the national presidential election.

Powell received a similar letter from Dominion’s attorneys last week about her “wild, knowingly unfounded, and false allegations” about the company. The letter demanded that she withdraw her claims and keep documents related to them.

Giuliani and a White House spokesman had no immediate comment when they were approached by CNBC about the CNN report. CNBC has reached out to Dominion and his attorneys.

The article came on the heels of a lawsuit filed by Dominion security director Eric Coomer against the Trump campaign, Giuliani, Powell and a number of conservative media outlets.

Coomer’s lawsuit says he has been targeted by death threats and other harmful communications because of defendants’ false claims about Dominion’s machines.

Dominion has posted a page on its website entitled “Setting the Record Straight: Facts & Rumors” to address claims about the company, calling it “disinformation” and a threat to democracy.

“Unfounded claims about the integrity of the system or the accuracy of the results have been rejected by election authorities, subject matter experts and outside fact-checkers,” said that page.

“Malicious and misleading false claims about Dominion have led to dangerous levels of threats and harassment against the company and its employees, as well as election officials.”

Biden was confirmed by the Electoral College as the winner of the election last week. Trump has refused to admit defeat.
