RICHMOND, Virginia (WWBT) – Former President, President and CEO of Dominion Energy, Thomas F. Farrell, II, died a day after resigning as head of the company.
Dominion Energy said Farrell, 66, was battling cancer and had taken a turn in recent weeks.
Farrell served as president, chairman and chief executive officer from 2007 to 2020.
“Tom has been an unparalleled mentor and outstanding leader who has sought to find innovative solutions to challenges at Dominion Energy, the utilities industry and the community he has named at home,” said President Robert M, President and CEO .Blue. “During his tenure at the company, Tom oversaw an era of prosperity and growth and a long-term transformation that will have a lasting impact on the development of clean energy and environmental health. Farrell became president and chief operating officer of Dominion in 2004 and president and chief executive officer in 2006 and was elected president in 2007 – a position he held until April 1.
