Dominican writer Marcio Veloz Maggiolo remains admitted to COVID

The famous Dominican writer continues to be admitted to the Advanced Diagnostic Center for Medicine and Telemedicine (Cedimat), after being infected with coronavirus.

This was confirmed by the public relations office of the mentioned medical center towards this environment.

Maggiolo was admitted to the Cedimat intensive care unit this week.

In addition to being a writer, Marcio is a narrator, poet, essayist, literary critic, archaeologist and anthropologist, according to the Dominican Academy of Languages.

Among the prizes he received are the National Poetry Prize (1961) for Intus; National Novel Award (1962) with The Good Thief; National Novel Prize (1981), Diffuse Biography of Sombra Castañeda; National Storytelling Award (1981), The Fertile Agony of Love; National Novel Award (1990) with raw material; National Novel Award (1992), Cabaret Rituals; National Literature Prize (1996) and National Book Fair Prize (1997) for Trujillo, Villa Francisca and other ghosts.
