Dominican rotation for the Mazatlán 2021 Caribbean series

The general manager of Aguilas Cibaeñas, Angel Ovalles, revealed the initial rotation of the Dominican Republic which will launch in Caribbean Mazatlan Series 2021, which will be led by the pitcher of San Luis Cardinals, Carlos “Tsunami” Martínez, who curiously will be the only Dominican who will have the responsibility to throw from the beginning.

The rest of the rotation is made up of Cuban veterans Yunesky Maya, Yoanner Negrín, American Joe Van Meter and left Panamanian Andy Otero.

According to Ovalles himself, the directive aims to add more high-caliber fittings, such as Robinson Canó, Jonathan Villar, Fernando Abad, among others.

It should be remembered that “Aguiluchos” won the right to participate in the Caribbean 2021 after defeating Gigantes del Cibao in seven interesting games.

In terms of their history in the Caribbean Series, the Cibao team has won five titles (1997, 1998, 2001, 2003 and 2007), ranking second among the most winners of the competition, behind their strong rival in Lidom, Tigres del Licey, who were crowned ten times.
