Pensions between 50 thousand and 183 thousand pesos per month will start receiving doctors with the implementation of the presidential decree which establishes that these health professionals will retire with 100% of salary, as provided in Law 414-98 .
This was announced by the President of the College of Dominican Physicians (CMD), Waldo Ariel Suero, noting that the union is very happy that the President of the Republic, Luis Abinader, has just promulgated decree number 127-21 with 1,257 retired doctors with 100% of salary.
He said that, through incentives and the unification of both jobs, it allows doctors to receive pensions ranging from 50 thousand pesos to 183,000 pesos per month.
“By this decree, the President of the Republic formally initiates and implements Law 414-98 and the agreement signed on December 21 between this National Board of Directors 2Ot9-2027 (JDN) and the Government Cabinet for Health,” said Serum.
He said that this puts an end to a long struggle that began in 1998 and took 22 years for Law 414-98 to be crystallized and implemented, the aim of which was to obtain those dignified pensions that were achieved today. “From now on, doctors will continue to retire for life with 100% of their salary plus incentives,” Suero said at a news conference for the union’s board of directors.
