The War Room of the Democratic National Committee (DNC) released a new video Saturday hitting House Republicans for voting against a massive $ 1.9 trillion package that aims to provide Americans with financial aid during the pandemic.
The video, which the DNC posted on Twitter Saturday afternoon, including coverage from House Democrats passing the stimulus package in a mood of 219-212 in the early morning.

The video from the DNC shows that the package, dubbed the “American Rescue Plan,” includes funding for the distribution of coronavirus vaccines, reopening schools, and assistance with rentals.
The package also includes an additional $ 400 in weekly unemployment benefits, as well as a one-time incentive payment of up to $ 1,400 for individuals or $ 2,800 for married couples.
The video then cuts to coverage of the bill on MSNBC, highlighting national polls indicating that a majority of Americans support the emergency relief bill modeled after President Biden’s proposal.
A Morning Consult / Politico poll last week showed that 76 percent of registered voters supported the stimulus package, and 52 percent said they “strongly” support it.

In a CNN segment shot in the DNC’s video, correspondent Abby Phillip says, “Republicans didn’t care enough to appear on this issue.”
“You may not agree with the details of the bill, but the idea that COVID emergency response is not something of the utmost importance, I think everyone can agree,” she added.
In a statement shared with The Hill, DNC War Room spokesman Daniel Wessel said, “Democrats, Republicans, and independents across the country have made it clear that they support President Biden’s US bailout plan. “
“But last night, instead of joining Democrats in passing on the much-needed stimulus plan to provide thousands of dollars in aid to those who need it most, Republicans voted to leave millions of families high and dry,” he added.
Republicans who voted for the vote on Saturday expressed their special opposition to part of the bill the federal minimum wage from the current $ 7.25 an hour to $ 15.
While the Senate MP ruled on Thursday that the minimum wage increase would not be in line with the fiscal rules needed to clear bills as part of the reconciliation process, House Democrats chose to maintain the minimum wage provision in the bill as a token of support for the highest progressive priority.
The The package is now going to the Senate, where Democrats will likely amend it next week before returning it to the House for approval.
Democrats hope to finalize the bill before unemployment benefits expire on March 14.
