DMX rapper and actor dies | Stage

NEW YORK – DMX, the rapper whose style used to include screams and barks in addition to his battle cry “What!”, Has died, his family reported. He was 50 years old.

The husky rapper produced songs like “Ruff Ryder’s Anthem” and “Party Up (Up in Here)”.

The Grammy-nominated artist died after suffering a “catastrophic cardiac arrest”, according to a statement from White Plains Hospital, New York, where he died.

He was rushed there from home on April 2.

The rapper, whose real name was Earl Simmons, had been addicted to drugs since adolescence.

His lawyer, Murray Richman, said he could not confirm reports that he was overdosed on DMX.
