Division 2 was released on March 12, 2019, becoming over two years old this week. A lot happened during that time. Multiple updates, changes, errors, controversies, teasers, puzzles and more. Here is what has happened since then Division 2 went out.

  • Even before Division 2 ‘The 2019 release began to provoke controversy when Ubisoft tried to position the game as rude. However, the game was set in Washington DC and will be marketed using images and political messages. (And the game featured tons of political stories and traditions.) All of this made the promises that they would not be political feel like a a strange lie that Ubisoft was selling to a certain group of players.
  • On March 12, 2019, Division 2 released on Xbox One, PS4 and PC. He presented a huge map that was satisfactory to explore, inclusive museums based on real world locations found in DC. Our initial impressions of the game were positive and our review he left impressed.
  • The launch of Division 2 was not perfect. An annoying mistake made special abilities, such as assault drones, not work consistently. It was finally repaired shortly after it appeared. Less annoying problems were also found, as a ladder with problems and NPCs who behaved as if they were possessed of demons.
  • A few weeks after release, Ubisoft updated the game and changed a lot of things. He also added a new final mission.
  • As players continued to explore the game world, they found secrets. One, in particular, it seemed to point to a Viking theme assassin’s Creed game. Of course, today, in 2021, we know that this clue was correct as in 2020 Assassin’s Creed Valhalla He was released. Other secrets were found by the players, including hidden messages that had to be decoded. Many of these secrets were added without everyone in the studio knowing them or how it works.
  • Players also noticed a hidden detail that was not funny or cool. A piece of art found on a building contained ambiguity. Ubisoft apologized for the art as well quickly removed the word with a patch.

  • In May 2019, Ubisoft added two new missions to the game. They were not just about fighting. Instead, they presented new knowledge, new areas to explore and solving puzzles. These were only available to season 1 season ticket holders.
  • Later in May, Division 2 ‘The first raid was added to the game. Controversially, he launched without a match support after Ubisoft suggested it would have it. It was also very difficult, taking the first team to beat in 5 hours. The console players struggled to beat him, but finally a few days after his release a few teams on the Xbox and PS4 took it down.
  • In June 2019, during E3, Ubisoft has revealed that a further expansion of the game would be let the players return to New York, setting the first game. During this time, Ubisoft spoke Kotaku
and explained how they planned to fight the backlash.
  • Also in June, a strange player, but let kill animals to win special ammunition. Ubisoft quickly fixed this after it was discovered.
  • In July 2019, one of the biggest updates in the history of Division 2 came into force. Added flashlights, something the players had asked for since the launch of the game. It also added new missions and a new way to play the raid. Players could now choose an easier difficulty and fit in with others. This would reward players with less powerful and rarer prey, but would give more people a chance to play the final activity.
  • In August we looked at the statues. Is strange. Also during that period, Ubisoft challenged players to find a police car that made a mistake. They found her quickly, but only after fans found out he was not in the game at all. Before that, she had been hidden for months.
  • In October, fans found a secret boss in the game. He’s been there for months, like the secret of the police car, but it was only found after Ubisoft teased it.
  • Later in October, Ubisoft updated the game and reviewed how the loot and equipment worked. It has become easier to hunt the desired equipment and change the prey you already had. Although not the most interesting update, it was a big step forward for the booty shooter.

  • In December 2019, Ubisoft added some tactical-themed clothing, after some fans complained that most of the clothing he was too stupid or stupid in the game. Also in that month, Ubisoft has added a snowball shooter.
  • On March 2, 2020, after a bit of a drought of content and new updates, Ubisoft released Warlords of New York City. First teased at E3 2019, this expansion was massive and saw players return to New York. It shook the way the game handled leveling, prey and also changed the way the final game progressed.
  • A few days after release, we revised the new expansion and they were happy with most of the changes and the new world to explore. Along with the new DLC, Ubisoft started season 1 of Division 2, adding a fighting game to the game and new enemy targets to follow within a few weeks.
  • Later in March, players spent hours tracking and finding all the hidden bosses in the game. It took some work, but in a weekend they reunited through Discord and solved all the puzzles and killed all the secret enemies.
  • As March turned April into 2020, the covid-19 pandemic began to take over the world. A doctor explained to Kotaku his experience in New York, fighting the virus, while playing at the same time Division 2, a game about a deadly virus that has killed millions around the world.
  • In May 2020, fans analyzed the data Division 2 after an update and discovered a number of files and audio clips that seemed to ruin the content next year. He also suggested a new way.
  • The second raid in Division 2 was added in July 2020. However, the race to be the first team to complete the new activity he was pampered by allegations of fraud.
  • In September, the leaked files found in May proved to be correct. A new game mode has been added to the game. This new mode, Summit, has tasked players to fight up to 100 floors, each full of different enemies and challenges. In October, the mode was updated to ease things up a bit for people to actually finish.
  • In December 2020, Division 2 the developers shared bad news about a planned event. Due to the covid-19 event, which was set to reuse an older area of the game, it was canceled. Instead, some of its assets would be rebuilt in a smaller-scale clothing event. I later found out that this was planned to be a great crossover event with resident Evil.

  • January 2021 started with some great news. The developers behind it Division 1 and 2 they were going to work on a Star Wars game. At the time, players weren’t sure what that meant Division 2 going forward.
  • On February 2, a new one resident Evil the crossover event went live. It included outfits and equipment based on characters from the popular horror franchise Capcom. The event was … meh. But the update that added the new clothes also unlocked the framerate on PS5 and Xbox Series X, leaving the game to reach 60 fps.
  • In February 2021, as the fourth season of Division 2 ended, I felt the game was over. But Ubisoft CEO Yves Guillemot announced otherwise during a conversation with investors that month, explaining that the game will have more updates. This seemed to surprise Massive, who issued a statement confirming that they had originally intended to resolve matters after season four, but now he would continue to work on the game, adding more content. No specific plans were given at that time.
  • Finally, earlier this month, Massive presented some plans on how Division 2 to be continued. While the game will receive a new mode and some great content updates, Massive warned that players should not expect this content until the end of 2021 at the earliest. In the meantime, the old seasons will be resumed for the players who missed them. It’s not the most interesting way to keep the game alive, but it’s better than nothing.

And there it is. It’s been a little over two years since then Division 2 released. A lot happened, with some big climbs and a few big descents.

Now, although the popular game seems to be life support, while Massive and Ubisoft are focusing on other things. But with promises of more content at a later date, it looks like I will start Division 2 a few times before it’s all over.
