Walt Disney World Resort has just announced that as of January 1, 2022, Disney Magical Express transportation from Orlando International Airport (MCO) will be discontinued.
There will be NO FREE replacement options for Disney Resort hotel guests. Of course, paid options such as Uber, Lyft, private car service, etc. or renting your own vehicle will be the options after the end of this year. It is important to note that Disney’s Magical Express will remain intact until the end of 2021.
When Disney Resort hotel reservations open for stays in 2022, we will no longer offer Disney’s Magical Express service for airport transfers, starting with arrivals on January 1, 2022. We will continue to operate the service for new and existing reservations made at Disney Resort hotels for arrivals. throughout 2021.
In addition, Disney has announced that Extra Magic Hours will disappear and be replaced by Early Theme Park Entry.
We know how much guests enjoy an additional park, so coming later this year as part of our 50th anniversary celebration, guests at the Disney Resort and other selected hotels will be able to enjoy more fun with 30 minutes of early entry into ANY theme park, Every day. It will be a great way to start Disney Day, no matter the day! As a reminder, the benefit of Extra Magic Hours was suspended when Walt Disney World Resort reopened last summer, and as we continue to manage our presence healthily and safely, Extra Magic classes will not return. The new early entry benefit to the theme park helps us better spread the visit to all four theme parks, while providing extra flexibility by giving guests extra early parking time each day of their holiday and in their chosen park. Please note that guests need a valid admission and a park reservation made through the Disney Park Pass system to enter a theme park.
