Disney updates dress code for theme park employees to allow tattoos, “including” hairstyles

ANAHEIM, California (KABC) – When Disneyland Resort reopens on April 30, guests will see some changes designed to make everyone, including employees, feel better welcomed and appreciated for their unique experiences and culture.

Disney has a long tradition of guest service with the four keys that include safety, courtesy, entertainment and efficiency.

When Disney employees were asked by the company how to better cultivate a culture of belonging, they suggested a fifth key: inclusion.

Disney brings the spirit of inclusion to the key to life by reimagining attractions such as the Jungle Cruise and Mount Splash, which will become adventures with Princess Tiana.

One of the biggest changes with the introduction of the fifth key is updated policies that guide how employees view work.

According to the Disney Parks blog, theme park employees will be allowed to dress in a way that better expresses their cultures and individuality. This includes allowing appropriate hairstyles, jewelry, nail styles, costume choices and visible tattoos including gender.
