Switch owners will not receive Elysium Disco: The Final Cut by this summer, but there are already problems in front of Australian players. Launched on March 30 for PlayStation and Stadia owners, the Australian government has refused to classify it, banning it from being sold in the country.

They did not specify exactly why Disco Elysium was refused a rating, and ZA / UM has not yet publicly responded to this. However, given that the basic mechanisms of the game visibly include drugs and alcohol, we can assume, and the Australian Classification Council issued this statement:

Computer games are classified RC … as computer games that describe, express, or otherwise treat issues of sex, drug abuse or addiction, murder, cruelty, violence, or outrageous or ugly phenomena in a manner that offends moral standards. , decency and fairness generally accepted by reasonable adults insofar as they should not be classified.

It is worth noting that this could be a mistake on the part of the classification committee. In November, the Bloober’s team Environment The classification in Australia was also rejected, although in this case it was overturned not long before launch and received an R18 + rating.

With the launch of the Switch a few months away, there is a long way to go before this decision is reviewed, but PlayStation owners will not be as lucky. We will keep you posted with additional details.
