Raleigh, NC – An MRI revealed today that NC top guard Devon Daniels suffered a crucial anterior ruptured ligament (ACL) in his left knee in the second half of last night’s victory over Wake Forest.
He will miss the rest of the season.
Daniels leads the team in points (16.5), assists (3.1) and steals (1.7) and is third in the team in recovery (5.1). His 48.1 percent field goal percentage ranks ninth in the ACC and is also equal to leading the team with 19 triples this season.
“I’m heartbroken for Devon,” said NC State head coach Kevin Keatts. “Devon joined our program shortly after I was appointed head coach and I quickly appreciated the tenacity and tirelessness he brought to the gym every day. Devon has built himself into one of the most important ACC players and, with that tireless work ethic, I have no doubt that he will attack his rehabilitation and come back even stronger. I hope all NC State fans will join me in praying for Devon and a speedy recovery. ”
