Destiny 2
Bungie
Well, I heard that some time is coming during the season of the chosen one, and today, a day after the death of Anthem and the debut of the Outriders demo, Destiny 2 unleashed a massive post about the state of the game, with an information overload.
There is some bad news to begin with, but especially good afterwards. This is an your to pass, but I will try to give you the most important moments of Joe Blackburn’s stretched piece here:
- The Queen of Witches has been postponed until 2022. This is due to a wide combination of factors, namely that the COVID delays at the beginning of the pandemic inevitably affect future content and aim to appear at the beginning of 2022. In general, it seems that it could start moving the big expansion version to the new year, rather than the fall / holiday, from now on.
- In the same breath, Blackburn says that they realized to complete the “first saga” of Light and Dark that began with Destiny 1, will make another expansion Destiny 2 in the past Lightfall, although it does not yet have a name. And the “first saga” certainly indicates a “second saga” waiting on the road, although it is not clear here whether it is Destiny 3 or positioned differently.
- The sunset is dead. Like completely dead. Unequivocally. Starting right now, everything you have that is not already limited will never be limited (RIP Breachlight), they completely kill the concept. They realized that this was to the detriment of how the rewards felt to be won, and the sunset didn’t even survive the year, as they looked for other ways to keep the game balanced, which included getting nerves to things like Felwinter cells. and Warmind, suggests this section. We must applaud the relatively rapid action here and the total dismantling of the system. Fantastic.

- People tired of the power force will welcome the return of the small increase of 10 power gaps between seasons, instead of the 50-60 we have now. This means that peak power is essentially whole grind now, similar to how things worked in the Dawn Season. I have some questions about how this will work (the power of the artifact?), But for now it seems that most people wanted a version of this.
- There is a whole huge section about PvP that includes your own series of important moments. Bungie kills three spikes in competitive ways by disabling emotes and removing “third-person weapons” (hmmm) without ammunition. They double the size of the players’ security team to prevent cheating. They will worsen a lot of damage and damage to the stasis subclass for PvP. We won’t know how it goes until it’s over, but it’s a lot of what people have asked for.
- Attempts and later Iron Banner get bigger rework to encourage more people to play them, especially attempts try to stop resetting after a single loss and bring more people to 3 and 5 winning rewards. Some details given, and the changes in the Trials will come before the IB.
- Vault of Glass will be released next season and will have a raid race in competition mode, which is a bit controversial, given that it is a repeated raid. In the coming seasons, he will eventually get a Master mode, which implies that Bungie may start making the raids heavier, with a new difficulty in the future.

- Ada-1 will be the seller of cosmetics when he returns to the Tower. It will give you coin searches that you can earn to turn any equipment into an ornament. It’s not shiny dust. He will also sell that coin for Silver if you want to queue. Because it’s cosmetic, there’s no problem, I think.
- I don’t know how I forgot this in my first sketch, but the shadows are now permanent releases, not consumables, which could very well be the best news about this.
Quick Impressions:
- Ikora has more to do next season and an important role in Witch Queen.
- Stasis is more materialized as a type of damage and soon we will have weapons of energy and stasis power (and enemy shields of stasis, I would imagine?).
- They will have more gilded titles and will show how many times they have been gilded, representing works from past seasons.
So am I going to trade the Witch Queen’s delay for all these other positives? Yes, yes I would. Almost everything listed here sounds great in theory, and while I guess we can see how it works in practice, I’m encouraged by the direction here, both in terms of fast-paced action, such as instantaneous sunshine, and plans. long-term, such as the new “saga” of the Destiny franchise.
Okay, my brain is on fire trying to process all this. Back to Outriders for now.
