Demi Lovato is given injections to prevent growth

Demi Lovato “overcomes the curve” of drug addiction by receiving injections to prevent relapse.

The “Sober” singer says she receives monthly photos with Vivitrol, a drug that stops the effects of opioids.

The treatment, which blocks opiate receptors in patients’ brains, can only be taken temporarily – but Lovato believes it will give him a good start in terms of long-term sobriety.

“At least for a few years she can’t hurt me,” she says in her new YouTube docuserie, “Dancing with the Devil.”

Lovato, who suffered an almost fatal overdose in 2018 after taking oxycodone and fentanyl-related heroin, admitted to still smoking marijuana and drinking alcohol in moderation.

But she claims she “finished” with the hard drugs that landed her in the hospital.

“I know I’m done with the things that will kill me,” she says in the YouTube series. “But I wish I could get some relief, maybe through weeds or something, right?”

She adds: “I’ve learned that closing the door on things makes me want to open the door even more.”

The sober star Elton John appears in the documentary and explains the thought of Lovato, 28 years old, that he can mix in weeds and alcohol.

“Moderation doesn’t work, I’m sorry,” John says bluntly.

Lovato claims that despite lying about her sobriety in the past, her health is now in the first place due to the shocking revelation that she craved fentanyl more than heroin.

“The slip I ever had with those drugs, the scariest thing for me was to take heroin and realize, ‘Wow, that’s not strong enough.’ Because what I did the night I overdosed was fentanyl, and that’s another beast.

“Realizing that I wanted to be killed was what I needed to clean up once and for all.”
