deGrom hit 9 in a row; one of the records

Jacob deGrom, the right finger of the Mets, hit nine in a row on Saturday against the Rockies, reaching a distance of equaling the record set by Mets legend Tom Seaver, who had 10 in a row in 1970.

The series began in the second half when he fanned Josh Fuentes for the first traction and ended with Fuentes coming first after a throwing error by second baseman Jeff McNeil in the fifth.

Seaver set the record when he sold 10 consecutive opponents on April 22, 1970 against the San Diego Padres to complete the Mets. With the nine on Saturday, deGrom tied Max Scherzer, Aaron Harang, Ricky Nolasco, Jake Peavy and Mickey Welch for the second biggest attack in a row in the National League.
