update: We managed to investigate the requirements for the Cyberpunk 2077 secret to end further and have better control over what actually triggers it. The mission is not about your total relationship with Johnny, as previously thought, but rather about some of the dialogue options you make in the Chippin ‘In mission. See full details below – accessories for YouTuber KVNG IX to find out.
Note: it may be obvious, but this post contains significant spoilers for the Cyberpunk 2077 story and ending – even though we tried to limit them.
There are a lot of different endings available in Cyberpunk 2077, depending on your choices, your relationships, and how you interacted with Johnny Silverhand throughout the game before you reached him. Triggering all requires work, but if you have met the prerequisites, you will see how to access each in a fairly simple way, when the time comes. It’s true for all but one secret ending, which you may never know you have access to – and which will get you through one of Cyberpunk’s toughest challenges.
To get the secret end, meYou need to make some specific dialogue choices with Johnny on a specific mission: Chippin ‘In. There are other side missions that you should do along the way, but this is essential. See our summary of everything you need to do before reaching the end of Cyberpunk 2077 for a complete picture of the other missions you can do and how to unlock them.
After that, you have to advance the story to the point of no return at the beginning of the Op55N1 Night Story mission. Taking on this mission starts the end of the game and blocks you from any additional side missions, while setting you on your way to the choices that unlock the different endings.
How to unlock the secret end of Cyberpunk 2077
- Take on the side mission centered on Johnny, Chippin ‘In.
You will have access to this side mission after completing all the paths of the main story mission – following Evelyn Parker, finding and interrogating Anders Hellman, and meeting Hanako Arasaka. Once you have done this, you will complete the Tapeworm story mission. That should unlock Chippin ‘In with Johnny. When you get to the mission, you’ll need to make some specific dialogue choices before you’re done.
- Go to the oil fields with Johnny after Rogue leaves and make these choices:
- When Johnny asks you what should be on the tombstone, say, “The guy who saved my life.”
- When Johnny says he messed everything up except his relationship with V, you say, “No, you knew that, too.”
- When Johnny asks for a second chance, he asks, “What do you want from me?”
- When Johnny says that V is the only person who didn’t seem to hate his courage so far, tell him, “OK. But as the second chance passes, this is your last. “
From here, it is not clear whether the dialogue you choose is essential to trigger the end. These are the choices we made, which unlocked Blistering Love with Rogue and worked to unlock the secret ending, so we recommend you watch them all.
-
- Then say, “You were a real d ** k in the beginning.”
- When Johnny says, “I never thought we’d get this far,” he replies, “When you said you disappointed your friends …”
- When you talk about Rogue, you say, “Smasher biz has really gotten to her.”
- When Johnny asks if he can use V’s body to get Rogue out, tell him, “Yeah, I’ll call Rogue.”
After that, you will unlock the Blistering Love side quest. You have to complete that mission – it opens a key choice at the end of the game that you can’t access without it.
- Complete Blistering Love with Rogue. Your choices there should not make a difference. (Save here. This will allow you to complete other missions and deal with other things before the end, if you choose to do so.)
- Continue through Nocturne Op55N1 until you reach the roof conversation with Johnny.
- Choose to let Johnny take the Arasaka Tower with Rogue. When Johnny asks if you’re sure, wait – it’ll take about five minutes.
- After a while, Johnny will give you a new option: You two take the Arasaka Tower alone. Choose this option to access the end Don’t be afraid of the reaper.
The thing about its end is that it is extremely difficult. Go straight to the lobby of the Arasaka Tower, where you will face a mess of top enemies, without anyone to help you. This makes this one of the most difficult missions in the game. Moreover, if you die, the credits will run. Get one shot at the mission Don’t be afraid of the reaper (at least, unless you’re uploading a rescue before Nocturne Op55N1), so make sure you’re very ready. We recommend that you create top equipment and complete as many side missions as possible to increase your V level and make it as resilient as possible.
Ending the secret conclusion unlocks content that you can’t get otherwise, so it’s worth doing if you’re particularly tough on the game.
