announce this morning on the PlayStation blog, Greylock Studio’s Cut steel (formerly known as Impact) is a first-person shooter with a character that can’t reload because it only has one arm.

Her name is Steel and, before starting the game, she loses her arm in an accident caused by the EdenSys megacorporation. When the company abandons her after her injury, Steel launches a mission to save others trapped under the heel of EdenSys and take revenge for her dismemberment.

Steel cannot be reloaded with one hand, so he uses his acrobatic skills to steal weapons from enemies. She slips, flows, flows on the wall and dives about her enemies. To encourage players to rely more on Steel’s agility, designer Matt Larabee has managed to automatically miss enemy fire when in the middle of a stunt. As long as Steel continues to move, it is almost bulletproof. He’s kind of neat.

Cut steelThe environments are built with voxel and completely destructible, so later in the game, when Steel receives a cannon mounted on its residual limb, the shit will be blown up. Who needs recharging when you can jump the ground from under enemies with an arm cannon?

Cut steel comes later this year on PS4 and PC.
