Cubans can reach up to 15 thousand pesos in one day at the island’s ATMs, starting January 1, 2021, as announced by the Banco Metropolitano de Cuba.
The operations will have a limit of 5,000 Cuban pesos, so that in a single day up to three extractions can be made with this amount.
With a smaller amount, up to 10 operations can be performed in one day with the same magnetic card, as long as it does not exceed 15 thousand pesos in total.
For electronic operations which are made with magnetic cards, such as Transfermóvil, POS and Enzona, the limit extends to 30 thousand pesos in a single day and 20 daily operations not exceeding the total value may be performed. Operations worth 30 thousand pesos can also be performed simultaneously.
The measure is launched with the start of monetary regulation that begins throughout Cuba from January 1 and involves not only the exit from circulation of the JCC, but also the increase in prices for many of the basic services.
Cimex Corporation also reported that as of January 1, Cubans using the TuEnvío platform need to update it with the new version of Transfermóvil (V. 201229), which will be available from noon and which will allow “the correct operation of purchases on our e-commerce platform”.
The aforementioned platform has already announced that, due to adjustments to the monetary system, their services were suspended on 31 December and 1 January. Also, during these two days, the existing orders will be delivered to your home.
