Frank González, Cuban radio, film and television actor what was done well known for the voice of the cartoon character Elpidio Valdés, died at the age of 75 in Havana early Friday.

UNEAC announced the death in a comment on its Twitter profile. The official institution did not report the cause of death, although for several years the actor showed significant physical damage that kept him away from the scene.
González began as a performer for amateur theater groups and musical ensembles, until the late 1960s he began working at the Cuban Institute of Radio and Television (ICRT) as a costume designer and decorator.
His success came as a dubbing artist in various productions of the Cuban Institute of Art and Film Industry (ICAIC).and close collaborator of director Juan Padrón. Among his interpretations he pointed out characterization of the character mambí Elpidio Valdés, as well as in feature films Vampires in Havana, Mafalda and also in humorous shorts Minutes.
With the group Teatro Estudio he participated in works such as Ten days that shook the world, Square the circle Yes Romantic story for Federico. He also participated in various dramatized spaces on Cuban television.
He also embodied characters as in Cuban cinema, in feature films such as The other Francisco (Sergio Giral, 1974), In three and two (Rolando Díaz, 1985) and Plaff or Too scared of life (Juan Carlos Tabío, 1988).
He also received the 2019 National Television Award and the Actuary of a Lifetime Achievement Award in 2016, among others.
Actor Erdwin Fernández Collado lamented the death on his Facebook wall: “A star without the recognition she deserves, an ACTOR practically forgotten by those who don’t believe and like to forget. We repeat our RESPECT and ADMIRATION from us ”.
“Very sad. A great and total actor has left. Guilty of many of my enthusiasms watching TV, of many laughter and amazement,” wrote comedian Ulises Toirac.
His body will be cremated at the request of his relatives, UNEAC reported.
