OWINGS MILLS, MD – Baltimore Ravens corner Jimmy Smith informed the team that he and his family were robbed on Tuesday after being chased from Los Angeles International Airport.
“We are aware of the situation in which Jimmy Smith is involved,” Ravens said in a statement. “I talked to Jimmy and he and his family are safe.”
The team did not give other details.
Los Angeles Police Department and Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department spokesmen said they were unaware of the incident and did not have a police report. LAX police did not immediately return a phone message from ESPN.

Smith, 32, spent his entire 10-year career with Baltimore after being selected in the first round in 2011. He signed a $ 2.5 million extension with the Ravens. on January 1.
