Cristiano Ronaldo’s transfer from Sporting Lisbon to Manchester United in 2003 was considered the best in the Premier League.
Cristiano Ronaldo was chosen as the best signing in the Premier League, according to him Sky Sports. The Portuguese player, who currently plays for Juventus, stood out for his time at Manchester United and for what he achieved in his career.
According to experts at the Transfer Show, one of the popular television programs, CR7 was one of the four Manchester United players to reach the top-10 on the list, as the other three were Eric Cantona, Roy Keane and Wayne Rooney.
The Red Devils signed the Portuguese player from Sporting Lisbon in August 2003 for 12 million pounds at the time. Cristiano spent six years at Old Trafford where he won eight titles, including three Premier League and one UEFA Champions League.
For the rest of his career, the Portuguese has over 750 goals and 30 trophies with clubs, as well as five golden balls and twice was chosen the best player in FIFA.
“When they signed him, I thought it was just another signature for United,” said Sky White News host Tom White. “From now on, don’t listen to any words I say.”
Second place went to Thiery Henry, who played for Arsenal. He was signed in 1999 for £ 11 million and spent eight years with the Gunners at Highbury Stadium. He won two titles and broke the club’s goal record.
