Jim Cramer

CNBC’s Jim Cramer said Friday that the “real earnings” season will begin on Monday, after major banks released their quarterly results earlier this week.
“In fact, we will get the impact of both inflation and reopening,” he told Mad Money. “I think the former is a big negative, but the latter is so positive that the ball can stay in the air, ready for beautiful things on the net and on the floor.”
Cramer gave his game plan for next week. Earnings-per-share projections are based on FactSet estimates:
Monday: Coca-Cola, United Airlines, IBM
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: before the market; phone call: 8:30 am
- Designed EPS: 50 cents
- Projected revenue: $ 8.68 billion
“I’m worried about the pure Coca-Cola drink, which has no snack business,” Cramer said, “but I still expect a good number from them and a wonderful story about reopening food services.”
United airlines
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: by market; conference call: Tuesday at 10:30 am
- Projected losses per share: $ 7.05
- Projected revenue: $ 3.27 billion
“If it’s something like Delta, you’ll hear about the boom coming,” he said, adding that stocks could continue to rise. “I think it’s the right place to be.”
IBM
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: by market; phone call: 17:00
- Designed EPS: $ 1.69
- Projected revenue: $ 17.32 billion
“What will the new IBM, the one that kept the fast-growing business led by Red Hat, do? I think it’s too early to tell, but the stock has been hanging there,” Cramer said.
Tuesday: Abbott Laboratories, Johnson & Johnson, Procter & Gamble, Netflix
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: before the market; phone call: 9:30 am
- Designed EPS: $ 1.27
- Projected revenue: $ 10.69 billion
“Abbott has done such a great job in diagnosing Covid … it’s hard to believe they won’t be able to get out of the park,” Cramer said.
Johnson & Johnson
- Revenue Launch Q1 2021: 6:45; phone call: 8:30 am
- Designed EPS: $ 2.34
- Projected revenue: $ 22 billion
“J&J has become more controversial, although I think it has been unjustly punished by a CDC that seems more intent on scaring the public not to get vaccinated than to vaccinate people with a certain safety,” he said. “I bet J&J has a fantastic quarter and reveals an even better lineup.”
Procter & Gamble
- Launch of earnings for Q3 2021: before the market; phone call: 8:30 am
- Designed EPS: $ 1.19
- Projected revenue: $ 17.97 billion
“The street is actually worried about this. First of all, there are harsh comparisons to the number of home stays they made a year ago,” the host said. “Secondly, it is facing real inflation from plastics to surfactants [and] goods. “
Netflix
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: 16:00; phone call: 18:00
- Designed EPS: $ 2.97
- Projected revenue: $ 7.14 billion
“This should be fun. Netflix usually beats the numbers, and executives always seem to have fun talking about their business,” he said. “Even the Netflix conference has good content.”
Wednesday: Verizon, Lam Research, Chipotle
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: 7:30; phone call: 8:30 am
- Designed EPS: $ 1.29
- Projected revenue: $ 32.47 billion
“I’m starting to think it’s stuck there, making it feel more like an obligation than an action,” Cramer said. “If you have to own a phone company, I have to tell you that I prefer T-Mobile.”
Lam Research
- Launch of earnings for Q3 2021: by market; phone call: 17:00
- Designed EPS: $ 6.61
- Projected revenue: $ 3.72 billion
“Lam is the answer to the semiconductor shortage – they produce the equipment needed to make new chips,” he said. “When you hear that Taiwan Semi is talking endlessly about increasing the capital equipment budget, that means Lam will make a fortune.”
Chipotle
- Revenue Launch Q1: 16:10; phone call: 16:30
- Designed EPS: $ 4.89
- Projected revenue: $ 1.75 billion
“I bet this comparison of excellent natural food and phenomenal customer service will throw doors in the quarter, triggering a new round of target increases as analysts desperately try to rise in price,” the host said.
Thursday: Union Pacific, Dow, Danaher, Nucor, Berea Intel Boston
- Launch earnings for the first quarter 2021: 8 in the morning; phone call: 8:45
- Designed EPS: $ 2.06
- Projected revenue: $ 5.05 billion
“I think Union Pacific will tell a story of doing more with less, which is efficiency in abundance,” Cramer said.
Dow
- Launch earnings for the first quarter of 2021: 6 in the morning; phone call: 8 in the morning
- Designed EPS: $ 1.12
- Projected revenue: $ 11.09 billion
“If PPG is a guide last night, it should bring some amazing numbers, allowing the stock to come out up to $ 70,” he said.
Danaher
- Launch earnings for the first quarter of 2021: 6 in the morning; phone call: 8 in the morning
- Designed EPS: $ 1.76
- Projected revenue: $ 6.29 billion
“I can’t wait to see how well they do,” said the host. “I expect a fantastic quarter.”
Nucor
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: TBD; conference call: 14:00
- Designed EPS: $ 3.05
- Projected revenue: $ 7.18 billion
“We are in an inflationary era, whether it is transitory or not, so Nucor should bring in some incredible numbers,” he said.
Intel
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: by market; phone call: 17:00
- Designed EPS: $ 1.14
- Projected revenue: $ 17.78 billion
“I think Pat does a great job inspiring people both inside and outside this great institution,” Cramer said. “If the stock is hit, I’d be a buyer. Gelsinger can’t turn Intel’s battleship into money, but it will be turned.”
Boston beer
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: 16:00; phone call: 17:00
- Designed EPS: $ 2.55
- Projected revenue: $ 477 million
“I think shorts will lean on Boston Beer, as they always do, because [spiked seltzer] competition, “he said.” My opinion? The category is growing so fast that Sam Adams’ father should do well, thank you. “
Friday: Honeywell, American Express
- Launch of earnings for the first quarter of 2021: before the market; phone call: 8:30 am
- Designed EPS: $ 1.80
- Projected revenue: $ 8.08 billion
“Honeywell is becoming a software-as-a-building-service piece, not to mention an incredible healthcare company. I think the numbers can grow even more,” Cramer said.
American Express
- Launch of Q1 earnings: 7 in the morning; phone call: 8:30 am
- Designed EPS: $ 1.61
- Projected revenue: $ 9.21 billion
“It’s about measuring the power of the grand reopening. With its combination of small business … lines of credit, travel and entertainment, we should be able to read well the strength of the recovery in the future,” he said.
